Museum of the Order of St John Judi McGinley, Museum Assistant

Visitor comment: Pretty good, I guess. You need more focus on Malta and the siege. You don’t seem to have that many related objects on display.

Our response: With such a long and diverse history and limited gallery space, it would be impossible to cover every single aspect of the story of the Order in any great depth. The Siege of Malta is only one aspect of the Order’s rich history, although we appreciate that the broad narrative presented cannot provide the depth that some of our visitors would prefer. Our limited gallery space means that we can only have a small selection of  Maltese or Malta related artefacts on display. However, we do have a  collection of exquisite Maltese furniture, objects and paintings which are housed in our Malta room. Visitors can view this historical room  by joining one of our public guided tours which take place on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 11.00am and 2.30pm on these days.

Do remember to keep an eye on our website as well as our Facebook posts and Twitter feed, as our museum events and activities for 2018 will have a Malta theme to tie in with Valetta becoming the EU Capital of Culture.
