We are delighted to welcome visitors back to the Museum. To help keep everyone safe, we’re maintaining Covid-secure measures. These measures are updated regularly, so please check this page before your visit to familiarise yourself with any changes. If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to discuss our measures further, please contact the Museum.

By law, you must wear a face covering in our shop, unless you are exempt. We encourage visitors to also wear a face covering in our galleries.

Pre-booking is not required to visit the Museum galleries. We carefully monitor numbers so that there is plenty of space for visitors to enjoy the displays and maintain social distancing. At busy times we may ask you to start your visit in the Cloister Garden.

Guided tours must be pre-booked. Numbers will be limited.

Hand sanitiser is available at various points on the visitor route, and visitors are requested to make use of this facility on entering the Museum.

Visitors are asked to be respectful of each other and to maintain a distance of 1m. This may mean briefly waiting for other visitors to navigate parts of the galleries and facilities on site, including WCs.

The Museum has an official NHS QR code that can be scanned with your NHS COVID-19 app. This is prominently displayed in our entrance area.

If you become unwell before your visit, please do not attend. For guided tours you will be issued a full refund if you cancel before the scheduled start of the tour. This can be requested through the ticketing platform.
