My Lord,

Prior to giving you a statement as to what has

occurred in the Hospital during the past week, I would

like to say with regard to Captain Crymble severing his

connection with the Hospital that Lieut. Wilson, who is

quite a good and skilled Radiographer, will undertake this

work after Captain Crymble retires. The question of salary

I do not propose to raise at present.

The following convoys have been received:-

With respect to the cases admitted to Hospital

it is perfectly clear the Authorities recognise the

capability of this Hospital to deal with the most severe

type of cases, and as the convoys under review demonstrate

most of the cases were stretcher.  The total number of

very seriously wounded was large, many surgical operations

being necessary.

On Wednesday the 27th. Colonel Burtachaell, C.M.G.

A.D.G.M.S. called at the Hospital and had a look round

several of the wards.

On Friday the 29th. Colonel Sir Charles Wynd-

ham Murray, C.B. came out from Boulogne and had lunch with

us and then went round the Hospital, he evinced a great

deal of interest in the Hospital and its management, and

I think I am justified in saying he carried away with

him a satisfactory impression of all he saw.   It is quite

sufficient for me to say that in all probability he will

present his own views to the Chapter in Council of the Order

as to the condition he found the Hospital in.

I regret to say that two of our Officer patients

have died this week. They were both Canadians and there

was little hope of their recovery from the time of their

admission.
