Museum of the Order of St John

For an introduction to this project, follow the link.

In this report, the Director informed the Order that three men and four women had arrived at the hospital to replace the three men and four Sisters who had completed their contract, with one Sister still to arrive. There were four Sisters currently unwell but the rest of the staff were in good health. The Secretary of the Joint Committee visited the hospital and inspected the work done. Major Trimble had gone on leave for a week and will visit St John’s Gate shortly.

My Lord,

I have the honour to inform you that the three follow-

ing gentlemen – Dr. Henry, M.D., Mr. Jackson, F.R.C.S. and Mr.

Wilson, M.B.,B.Ch. reported for duty with this hospital on the

14th. inst. in place of those gentlemen who had terminated their

engagement.

The following Sisters – Misses Cadell, Ely, Francis, and

Rabbit also reported for duty to replace Sisters who had left. There

is still one Sister to come to complete our establishment.

Four of the sisters are in hospital at present with slight

indisposition, otherwise the general health is excellent.

Mr. Mayhew Secretary of the Joint Committee of St. John &

The Red Cross called at the Hospital and was able to go round and

also to see the process of receiving sick and wounded as a large

convoy arrived the evening he was here.

Major Trimble has gone on seven days leave today and will

probably visit the Gate on Monday.
