Inspired by the Museum of the Home, we’ve created our very own video call backgrounds that you can download for free. Where would you like to take your next call from? There are three options to choose from…
How about our Council Chamber?
The Council Chamber sits above the arch of St John’s Gate. Edward VII, whose portrait you see on the wall, was the Order’s second Sovereign Head. His mother, Queen Victoria, whose portrait is on the opposite wall (not visible in the photograph) was the first. All around the walls are plaques honouring notable members of the Order including Florence Nightingale.

Or our Museum galleries?
The Museum of the Order of St John has been open to the public since 1978, although the collections go back much further than this. The current galleries opened in 2010 after a major refurbishment.

Or would you like to get outside? Then why not make your call from our Cloister Garden?
The Cloister Garden was laid out by Lord Mottistone when the bomb-damaged church was restored in 1955-58, as a memorial to members of St John Ambulance from London District. As a part of the 2010 redevelopment of the Museum, the Garden was re-landscaped and planted with medicinal plants and herbs to reflect the work of the Knights Hospitaller and to call to mind the former gardens of the medieval Clerkenwell Priory.
