Discover more about the Order of St John, St John Ambulance and the history of Clerkenwell at our free Ten-Minute Talk and Tea events which take place on the second Thursday of every month. Tea and biscuits will be provided. 

Throughout 2022 the Museum is celebrating the centenary of the St John Ambulance Cadets and the incredible contributions that young people have made to the charity over the last hundred years. In this talk, Head of Collections Anna Mason, introduces an iconic image of two Cadets, painted by the artist Anna Zinkeisen in 1952 and reproduced as a poster to encourage more recruits. Find out more about the artist, her connection to the Order of St John and take a closer look at how the image has been constructed to achieve its purpose.  

This is a free event. Drop-ins welcome, or you can pre-register here. The event will take place in the Museum Galleries which are on ground level with step-free access throughout.
