On Monday 17th February 2020, the garden and Priory Gallery will be closed to the general public as we’ll be using these spaces to run an autism-friendly family activity. The museum galleries at St John’s Gate will be open as usual.
There will be no lunchtime tour of the church and crypt this Thursday 12th December because of an event taking place. We look forward to welcoming you on one of our other tours.
Please be aware that the afternoon tours on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th November are cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience caused – the 11am tours will run as usual both today and tomorrow.
Through an exhibition of beautiful artworks, fascinating documents and intriguing objects, explore the enduring and mutually supportive relationship enjoyed by the Royal Family and the Order of St John from the 1870s to the present day.
Please note that due to essential maintenance work, tours will not be able to access the Crypt from 28th September to 12th November 2019. Thursday tours will also not take place during this time.

We are delighted to be selling copies of Treasures- Highlights from the Collection of the Museum of the Order of St John.
Featuring over 250 images accompanied by selected essays that provide engaging and informative commentaries on the story of St John, Treasures is the first book that uses the unique collections of the Museum of the Order of St John to explore this story of faith, care, and valour, from the Order’s foundation in eleventh century Jerusalem through to its vital role today as a global humanitarian charity.
All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the Priory of England and the Islands in support of future investment in the Museum collections and buildings, to increase accessibility and to enable greater public engagement.
