The Museum has recently unveiled a new display about St John Ambulance Badgers and Cadets to mark the centenary of the establishment of the Cadets in 2022. As part of this we’re looking for current and former Cadets and Badgers, from all over the world, to contribute, and that’s where you come in…

There are two ways you might like to take part:

1. We’d like to hear about your memories of providing event cover, or going out on duty as it used to be called.

We’re looking for current and former St John Ambulance Cadets from all over the world to submit a photograph of yourself as a Cadet (in uniform), and between 200 and 300 words about your memories of providing event cover as a Cadet, as well as a completed consent formYou could write about a particularly memorable duty, or you could write about somewhere you regularly went (or still go) to provide event cover. Where were you? What did you do? Who did you meet?

Please don’t identify other individuals in your text, and please note that your image and account may be edited down, without changing the meaning. Please also be aware that we may not be able to include all submissions in the St John Young People display.

Please send your photograph, written piece and completed consent form to museum@sja.or.uk, or email with any queries.

2. We’d like to hear your responses to the objects on display.

We’re looking for current and former St John Ambulance Cadets and Badgers from all over the world to tell us what you think of the objects in the new display: what they remind you of and how they make you feel. This can be done through this online form, which will show you the objects and tell you a bit about them. Your responses may be selected to be shown alongside the objects as part of the display, alongside your name and when and where you are or were a Cadet or Badger. We may also use your text in relevant blogposts or articles on the Museum website.

Please email museum@sja.or.uk if you have any queries.

This is an ongoing project and there is no immediate deadline.
